Behind Bare Roots Esthetics
Kelci and Angel met while attending school at Chrysm Institute of Esthetics.
It was twin flame vibes immediately. The two even worked together at the same establishment.
Angel and Kelci both live by ReUse, Repurpose, Recycle, and wanted to implement that as much as possible in their line of work. Thus the creation of Bare Roots Esthetics.
Bare Roots Esthetics was established in July of 2023 by Master Estheticians, Kelci Ferris & Angel Welch.
It is important to us to support small local businesses and women owned businesses. To show our love for the community, we have a card stand in the shop to the right immediately when you walk in that showcases our local small business’ cards!
Skin is a very complex organ therefore should not be treated as “one size fits all”.
In the world of esthetics there is a lot of disposing of single use items, our goal is to keep earth’s natural beauty by minimizing our carbon foot print as best as we can.
At Bare Roots Esthetics we try our best to be as eco-friendly as can be! To help us commit, we chose to partner up with Green Circle Salons!

Angel Welch
Master Esthetician
I was born and raised in Tennessee and moved to Virginia with my husband in 2020. Ever since I can remember I was always interested in doing makeup, nails, and brows. When I started watching Dr. Pimple Popper is when I got more interested in skincare! I originally was leaning towards being a dermatologist assistant, but then realized how much I loved the beauty industry so I did my research on being an esthetician! Caring for people has also been something I do whether I realize it or not, so being in this career where I get to help people feel more comfortable in their own skin just made sense!
Kelci Ferris
Master Esthetician
I was born and raised in Vermont. I moved to Virginia in 2014. My partner and I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. I have suffered with cystic acne since I was 13 and got really into makeup, thinking that was the answer to hiding all my skin's flaws. It wasn't until 2016 when I realized it wasn't makeup that was the answer, but skin care. That's where the passion for helping others evolved. I have always been a curious person wondering how and why things work so naturally once my eyes were open to the world of esthetics, I was forever hooked!
